ASN / EDI non-compliance
Public reference. The retailer portal and current supplier documentation remain the controlling source.
What Walgreens deduction code ASN means
ASN / EDI non-compliance. Check EDI transmission and shipment documentation.
The code is a starting point for reconciliation, not by itself proof that a deduction is valid or invalid. The practical question is whether the charge matches the underlying transaction, commercial terms and the evidence available for the shipment, invoice or program involved.
Why this type of deduction may appear
A compliance deduction can arise when the retailer or distributor records an amount that differs from what the supplier invoiced, shipped, received, priced, promoted or otherwise agreed to. The exact trigger is retailer-specific, so the current supplier portal, agreement and supporting documentation remain the controlling sources.
What to check before deciding to dispute
Remittance detail
Capture the amount, code, date, reference number and any explanation attached to the deduction.
Original transaction
Locate the invoice, PO, shipment, promotion, agreement or other transaction referenced by the deduction.
Operational evidence
Review the records that directly address the reason: BOL, POD, ASN, packing list, carrier data, appointment history, receiving detail or system records.
Commercial terms
Compare the deduction to the current price, allowance, promotional agreement or routing requirements that actually applied to the transaction.
Evidence that may support an investigation
The strongest evidence is usually the record that directly answers the retailer’s stated reason. Tie every document to the exact invoice, PO, shipment, order or promotion whenever possible. A general policy document is weaker than a transaction-level record that shows what actually happened.
When recovery may be worth pursuing
A potential claim is generally more attractive when the dollar value is meaningful, the evidence is clear, the current retailer process allows a claim, and the expected recovery justifies the effort. A deduction may still be valid, insufficiently documented, outside the current deadline, or otherwise uneconomic to pursue. CertaRelay therefore focuses on prioritized recovery rather than disputing everything.
Questions to answer before submission
- Does the deduction amount reconcile to the underlying transaction?
- Does the retailer’s stated reason match the evidence we have?
- Is the claim still inside the current retailer or distributor process?
- Are the required documents complete and readable?
- Is the expected recovery large enough to justify pursuing the claim?
