Growing consumer brands with real packaging complexity.
CertaRelay is built for brands that face multistate EPR obligations without a dedicated EPR team, and whose packaging data is spread across suppliers, files and systems.
You will probably get the most value if this sounds familiar.
About $10M to $150M
Large enough for meaningful packaging volume, lean enough that no one owns EPR full time.
About 30 to 300 active SKUs
Enough variety that packaging configurations get hard to track.
Sales across several EPR states
Typically California, Oregon and Colorado, often more.
Multiple suppliers or co-mans
Packaging specs held by several outside companies.
Fragmented packaging data
Weights and materials missing, outdated or buried in PDFs.
No dedicated EPR owner
Finance, operations or sustainability absorbing it on top of the day job.
Categories we work with.
Every packaged consumer category has its own data headaches. These are the ones we see most.
Small parts, big gaps
Pumps, droppers, caps, decorated cartons and gift sets with many tiny multi-material components.
Common data gaps in beauty →Formats and refills
Tubes, sticks, aerosols and refill formats, often from different converters.
Closures and seals
Bottles, child-resistant closures, induction seals, desiccants and cartons.
Volume and mixed materials
Multipacks, laminated pouches, trays and high unit volumes across channels.
Rigid plastics
Trigger sprayers, jugs, refills and corrugated shippers.
Bags and boxes
Large-format bags, cartons and e-commerce shipping materials.
Retail, distribution, DTC or all three.
Selling through distributors or retailers does not by itself shift the obligation away from a brand owner, and DTC orders add shipping packaging. Using a co-packer generally does not move the obligation for a branded product. Private label can be different: the retailer may be the producer in some states. Each state's hierarchy needs to be reviewed for each brand and channel.
Probably a fit
Multistate sales, 30+ SKUs, five or more packaging suppliers, missing specs, no one clearly owning EPR.
Probably not a fit
Very small brands that may qualify for exemptions, enterprises with an established EPR team and platform, or companies seeking only a legal opinion.

The EPR Readiness & Data Assessment, from $1,000, reviews your states, reporting status and data gaps, and ends with a fixed proposal. The full fee is credited if you proceed within 60 days.
